On Monday 26^th June OM James Powell, newly graduated and newly engaged, regaled the Sixth Form History Society with a passionate analysis of why the British commemorate the Battle of the Somme differently to the French approach to Verdun. A lively debate ensued which the Sixth form  enjoyed along with several members of staff in this week in which the shocking events of the 1^st July 1916 will be the focus of remembrance events all over the country.
