Chamber Choir at Lichfield Cathedral

Evensong in Lichfield Cathedral, 11th June 2011.

The thirty voices of the Chamber Choir, ranging in age from eleven to seventeen years, sang Evensong on the eve of Pentecost at Lichfield Cathedral.  Responses by Rose followed the introit, Harris’ Holy is the true light, written for St. George’s Windsor, where the choir has also sung in recent years.  The magnificat and nunc dimittis where sung to CV Stanford’s grandiose setting in C, and the anthem was Edgar Bainton’s And I saw a new heaven.  The packed congregation, which included many family members, heard the choir singing as well as it has done in the least few years.
