Junior Symphonic Winds win gold at NCBF National Final

The Monmouth School Junior Symphonic Winds recently took part in the National Concert Band Festival final in Birmingham, and were delighted to achieve a gold award.

The band, numbering 47 boys (including 6 percussionists), presented a 15-minute programme at the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music in the Adrian Boult Hall.  This 2- day national finals event involved 40 bands and over 3,000 performers from all over Great Britain.

The musical director and conductor of the Junior Symphonic Winds, Patricia Dollins said, “The band worked hard in preparation for the opportunity to perform at national level, it was a privilege to perform in the fabulous acoustic of the Adrian Boult Hall and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. The result is a fitting end to an exciting year of performances which has included a 4-day tour to Paris.”
