Monmouth School pupil, Hallam, is believed to be the youngest player in the Northern hemisphere to score a try when he debuted for the Gwent Dragons against the Wasps on the 22nd October aged just 17. Hallam played for the full Newport Gwent Dragons side in a LV= game against Wasps at their stadium in High Wycombe where he started the game at full back, scored a try and finished at centre covering an injury. Hallam even played against a Scottish full back (Hugo Southwell) and an English wing (Tom Varndell).
On 15th October, Hallam played for Newport Rugby Club in the Premiership Division (the top 14 clubs in Wales - excluding the 4 regional sides). He started on the bench coming on at centre for the last ten minutes. He thus became (and remains) the youngest player ever to play in the semi-pro Premiership.
