It was smiles all round last week as ten Monmouth School students were presented with their CVQO BTEC Diplomas in Public Services. Each is a member of the Combined Cadet Force and has achieved the Diploma, (equivalent to four GCSEs) mainly through their wholehearted participation in the wide range of Cadet activities.
In total, 17 cadets took part in the BTEC qualification. Congratulations to Seb, Tristan, Josh D, Tom, Josh G, Maredudd, George, Rhys, Jack, George S, Benedict, Hugo and Jacob, and to Iona, Hannah, Tina and Annabelle from HMSG.
Headmaster Dr Steven Connors commented, “I am delighted that the school CCF is participating in the CVQO scheme. It adds another dimension of training to our existing, very exciting and successful programme, which aims to develop the individual in order to achieve his potential. I find it a particularly useful addition to the UCAS application, as many of our boys are applying to those universities where demand for places is very high, and this may give them the edge that they need.”
This opportunity is made possible by the educational charity CVQO, which enables cadets all over the UK and abroad to gain worthwhile educational qualifications.
