Chapel Worship

As well as marking key moments within the Christian liturgical calendar such as Harvest, Remembrance and Advent, the school community gathers throughout the week in groups in the chapel for a short service.

On Tuesday evenings, we have a service for our Boarding community. On Wednesday morning, our junior day boys gather in the chapel and on Friday mornings our 3rd, 4th and 5th Form day boys have their chapel service. At times throughout each term, the Houses take turns to lead these services which provides an important opportunity for the boys to offer a ‘thought for the week’.

In addition to these weekly services, our Sixth Form students have a monthly chapel service. The whole school gather monthly in the school's Blake Theatre for a Chaplain's Assembly, where other members of staff and external speakers are often invited to speak or lead the service.

Sunday Chapel at Monmouth takes place monthly and is open to all the community and their families. Our chapel term card with more details of times can be found here.

The School week begins and ends with a short reflective service (voluntary) where we pray for the school, the local community and the wider world. On Mondays at 8.10am we have a service of Celtic Morning Prayer and on Fridays at 8.10am we have a short service of Holy Communion. Both services are open to members of the school and the local community.
