The School's 1st XV has made an exceptional start to the rugby season by winning all of its matches this half-term.
Starting with pre-season friendlies against Kirkham Grammar School, Canford School Dorset and King Edward’s School Birmingham, followed by some tough fixtures against Marlborough College, Christ College Brecon, Cheltenham College and Bristol Grammar School, the team has shown dedication and flair to remain unbeaten. The highlight of the season so far was an impressive 41-0 victory over a strong Marlborough team.
The vast majority of players in Monmouth’s side have progressed through the School, making it a home-grown team of talented and well-coached players. In fact, only two members of the team joined the School in the Sixth Form. The 1st XV is also justifiably proud of its try-scoring record, having scored 41 tries in eight games!
