Editor’s Comment

I’ve recently been appointed editor of the new section of the school website which has been dubbed the ONLion (see what we did there?). When I applied for this post the main thing I had in mind was to make the website more of a resource for boys of the school; a place where everyone can go to find out what has been going on recently and what events are coming up, rather than just to see if the school is closed because of the snow.

I also wanted to make the website a little more interesting to the members of the school; a network where boys can catch up on the activities as well as the thoughts and ideas of their fellow peoples. With this in mind I would like to add a more personal element to this section of the website.  Once a week a member of the team will submit a column on a subject of their choice and in addition to this myself and the sub-editor, Alasdair, will submit editorial comments such as this one every two weeks. I would also like each of us to have a go at submitting or review or perhaps even a piece of creative writing to the site which hopefully will become a more regular thing as the website evolves.

So to conclude, I am thoroughly enthusiastic about the direction this website is heading in and hope that in time, other members of the school will be too.
