Pupils and teachers at Monmouth School celebrated the achievements of pupils after another year of exceptional A Level results with 81% A*-B grades. 54.6% of the grades were A*/A, and there were 29 boys who received at least 3 A*/A grades.
Amongst the boys collecting their results today were Elgan and Dan, who each gained 3 A*s and 1 A grade. Josh gained 3 As, whilst rowing in the GB junior squad. Ben has won a place at St Edmund Hall, Oxford to read Materials Science after gaining 4 A grades.
Dr Steven Connors, Headmaster at Monmouth School said, “These results reflect the tremendous effort the boys have made over the past two years and show what they can achieve in a supportive environment which cultivates aspiration and a love of learning. This year’s results were outstanding, with 81% A*-B grades and 29 boys gaining at least 3 A*/A grades. With the guidance of their dedicated teachers, the boys have responded to the challenge of these examinations and leave the School as talented, enthusiastic and well-rounded young men with bright futures ahead of them.”

Monmouth School was delighted with this year's GCSE results, recording a 97.4% pass rate (A* - C). 84.5% of the grades awarded were A* to B, and 57.2% of the grades were A*/A.
Tom gained 11 A*s and achieved 100% in some subjects. Callum, Will and Nathan all gained 10 A*s, and a further 15 boys gained straight A*/As. Amongst the pupils collecting their results today was Hallam, who gained straight A*s and 1 A. Hallam represents Wales at U16 level rugby and is the highest scorer for the School's First XV, despite being two years under age.
