Monmouth School's Junior Science Club meet during Thursday lunchhours in order to investigate the wonders of science and carry out experiments which extend beyond the scope of the normal curriculum.

So far this year, students have carefully examined leaf litter, searching through this bugs' world and examining their finds under microscopes. They have carried out blueprinting; bringing together 19th and 21st century technology in order to turn digital photographs into negatives and they have solved the age old search to turn base metals into gold! Students have constructed bridges out of spaghetti and added loads in order to test their strength. Their next challenge is to make bath bombs.
Spaghetti Bridge Challenge
Members of the junior science club were set the task of designing and building a bridge out of spaghetti. The challenge was to construct a bridge which would support as much load as possible. The winning bridge carried the huge load of 11Kg before finally collapsing.

Slime!

Making "slime" and seeing which creation "stuck" the longest was this week's challenge!
