All pupils in Forms I and II have 2 double periods of science each week and 1 prep.
Aims of the course
• To provide a flexible course, subdivided into modules, based on work specified for science in the National Curriculum. • To develop pupils’ interest in science and their enjoyment of the same. Science is fun! • To provide knowledge and understanding of science relevant to the pupils’ interests, environment and future GCSE requirements. • To develop pupils’ thinking in scientific methodology. Also to encourage and develop their approach to investigative science and problem solving. • To provide a wide range of practical experiences, thus developing their practical and investigative skills. • To develop the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
