Paintballing trip

On Sunday 13th March, the senior boarders headed out to Task Force in Cardiff to participate in a day of fierce paintballing. After the numerous safety talks from the staff in charge at the site, the boys and girls were allocated either blue or red hoppers and prepared for the fight. After several hours of games ranging from the tactical ‘bridge’ game (in which the two teams battled to control a bridge) to a ‘search and destroy’ game (where Mr Belfield was almost eliminated by the red team);  the final arena was in sight. The tactically superior Blues were extremely impressive in both execution of tactics and skill with their weapons.

Needless to say, the Blues were dominating at 4-1 up. The final confrontation was a merciless but entertaining team death match with infinite lives for the first five minutes. Many used up their limited supply of paintballs, and the staff threw numerous smoke grenades to confuse the troops. At the end of the pandemonium, the Blues were victorious; having rung the bell of the red team’s base consequently completing their mission. After inspecting their bruises and chatting about the day, the boarders headed home.

All in all, the paintballing trip was extremely entertaining, if a little painful. The staff were extremely welcoming and everyone who attended had a great time. This ever popular activity lived up to its very high expectations.
