On the 11th July 2009, 38 players from the U16 and U17 teams and 4 members of staff set off for a 16 day rugby tour to Eastern Canada. Of the ten matches played there were 9 victories and just the one unlucky draw against a strong club side in Toronto. Despite this minor blip, the Monmouth teams dominated the other matches including tough encounters against the provincial teams of Eastern Ontario and Quebec. During their time in Canada the boys were able to experience the many delights that this wonderful country has on offer such as the cerebral charms of the Royal Ontario Museum, the splendid views from the top of the CN Tower, the charms of downtown Montreal, and the watery delights of Niagara Falls, to name but a few! As importantly they met and socialised with the Canadian players and their families and it is likely that many will remain in contact with them in years to come.
