Blake Theatre Technical Manager

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Technical Manager to be based at the Monmouth School Blake Theatre, although there may be a requirement to work across the Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools in the future. The successful applicant will be responsible to the Bursar for the smooth running of the technical aspects of the theatre’s commercial operations.

Duties include the rigging and setting of lighting, sound equipment and other technical equipment on stage. You will liaise with both professional and amateur visiting companies by providing them with technical information to allow their shows to run effectively. You must therefore have a thorough understanding of theatre production techniques. You will also be required to liaise with the Monmouth School Audio Visual technician to ensure Blake Theatre and school events run smoothly alongside each other.

Due to the nature of the position, hours will average 15 hours per week and will often require attendance during evenings and weekends so a flexible attitude to working hours is essential. There is a possibility that the number of hours will increase in the future.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of pay which is dependent on experience and qualifications.  A comprehensive package of other benefits will be discussed at interview including sports club membership and a generous company pension scheme.
